Herb Fixler’s interest in photography dates back to childhood. Over the years, the thrill of capturing the uniqueness of everyday life in his images has become the core of his work. Herb’s subjects range from African wildlife, landscapes, to street photography in India, New York City and other locations. Largely self-taught, Herb now works exclusively with digital photographic and printing equipment. He seeks to engage viewers of his work by bringing them into his photographs and stimulating their curiosity about what he or his subjects were thinking and feeling at the moment of image capture.

Herb’s work has been exhibited in New York City, including a group show at the National Arts Club, is featured at Gallery 53 on East 53rd Street in Manhattan, and is included in a growing number of private collections. His work has earned him membership in Photographic Arts, Incorporated, and Profotos.com, each a select group of prestigious photographers. Herb has created this website in order to share with you many of the images he has made during his extensive travels as well as in and around New York City, where he lives.
